I alone, however, cannot produce transformation or a paradigm shift. We are a district traveling to greatness with teachers and leaders. We, in addition to our parents and/or guardians, must be willing to be caught up in the excitement of possibilities for our children. Starting a new year gives us the opportunity to make new plans, design new strategies, engage instructional approaches, and to implement new ideas. There is a special kind of satisfaction in planning exciting lessons and activities for a new class. Whether one’s responsibility is administering, supervising, teaching, preparing lunches, driving buses, maintaining a building, or managing an office, there is always room for professional improvement and for new alternatives to do our jobs better.
I am very proud of the great work done thus far and excited relative to our great potential as a school district. We shall demonstrate high achievement in the classrooms, business offices, playing fields and courts while in the general public and competing academically. The district has made gains because of dedicated and aspiring men and women with a common goal -- to do what is best for students. We are poised for greatness, and I am very proud to be the City of Baker School System Superintendent. "The power is in the Herd.”
