In English Language Arts, the City of Baker Schools focus on the development of literate individuals able to read, write, speak, listen, and use language effectively in a variety of content areas. Elementary instruction focuses on building foundational knowledge, acquiring basic literacy skills, and developing an understanding that print conveys meaning. Middle and high school students will analyze a variety of literary and non-fiction selections to inform their thinking about the world around them and their place in it.
