More than 300 parents and children attended a school supply giveaway held Saturday, Aug. 5, at the City of Baker School Board Office. The event, from 10 a.m., to 12:00 p.m., was sponsored by the Baker School System, State Rep. Barbara Carpenter and Southern University.
Baker School Superintendent, Dr. Herman Brister, other school administrators and school board members attended the event. The Baker High School Band performed for those attending.
Students were given school bags and other items, along with soft drinks, popcorn and cotton candy. Administrators were on hand to provide information to parents and students about the upcoming school year.
