Before I show you how to log on and access your home and shared folders, I would like to let you know exactly what each of these folders does for you. Your home folder is your personal storage space on your schools server. You can use your home folder to store files and limit access to those files. You are the only person who has access to them so they are protected. In addition to limited access, the files in your home folder (as well as all files on the server) are backed up nightly, adding another layer of protection for your data.
The shared folder is public school storage. The information stored at this site will be accessible to all staff members providing quick access to forms and documents.
Now that we understand what your folders are, we can find out how to access them. There are several ways to access your folders, provided you logged onto your computer properly. If you are already logged onto your computer, you can also access your account by right-clicking the small red "N" located next to the time on your computer (the bottom left corner) and selecting "Novell Login." Once the Novell login window appears, click on the "Advanced" button. The window will then look like this:
Depending on which school you are assigned to, you may have to make minor changes.Usernames: usernames are set as first initial last name (example: Wayne Dyer = wdyer)
Passwords: varies with user, PLEASE DO NOT SHARE YOUR PASSWORDS WITH ANYONE! To change your passwords press "CTRL + ALT + DELETE" and select the option to change your passwords. If you do not know what your password is, please have a member of your school tech committee contact me or send me an email.

Context: I have preconfigured the context for every computer, but in the event that there is an error, the contexts for each school are listed below:
Baker Heights: users.bht.baker
Bakerfield: users.bkf.baker
Park Ridge: users.pkr.baker
Baker Middle: users.bkm3.baker
Baker High: users.bkh.baker
Server: I have configured the server for each school as well, but in the event that there is an error, the Server name for each school is listed below:
Baker Heights: Bhtsvr1
Bakerfield: Bkfsvr1
Park Ridge: Pkrsvr1
Baker Middle: Bkmsvr1
Baker High: Bkhsvr1
Once you have logged in, you can now access your folders by going to 'My Computer.'
