17:422.2 Minimum salaries for nondegree holding teachers
Notwithstanding the provisions of R.S. 17:421 or any other provisions to the contrary, all persons who have been teaching school for fifteen years and do not hold a baccalaureate degree from any accredited college or university but have received lifetime teaching certificates from the State Department of Education shall receive the same minimum salary as a person holding a Bachelor's degree with the same number of years teaching experience, under the provisions of R.S. 17:421, provided however that in order to become eligible for such minimum salary a person
with a Class A certificate must satisfactorily complete six hours of college credit towards a Bachelor's degree in Education in each year this salary is received.
