Baker High School’s Symphonic Band will perform in Lafayette, LA at the prestigious request of The Louisiana Concert Band Invitational. This year's performance on April 6, 2019 will represent our band's 3rd consecutive appearance. The Invitational supports music programs through education and performance opportunities. The mission is to create, provide and expand positively life-changing experiences through music. In support of that mission the Louisiana Concert Band Invitational offers a non-competitive performance and learning opportunity for outstanding high school and middle school concert bands from across the southern region. The Invitational partners with other organizations to provide a positive educational opportunity for these bands. It is hoped that through the partnerships the Louisiana Concert Band Invitational will help make a profound impact on the quality of music education in the southern region.
Congratulations to The Baker High School Symphonic Band for receiving this honor. Kudos to the Conductor, Mr. William Earvin, Sr. and all the students. Since this event is on a Saturday, parents, other family members and community supporters are encouraged to attend and listen to our band as well as some of the others. There is a $7.00 entry fee and more details are forthcoming.
