The City of Baker Schools will be closed and all school activities cancelled on Wednesday, August 30, 2017, due to the potential for flooding generated by Tropical Storm Harvey.
According to the National Hurricane Center, the storm is predicted to make landfall in Southwest Louisiana early tomorrow morning and move northeast across the state. The potential for increased rainfall and wind could produce unsafe driving conditions for our area.
We are hopeful that we can resume normal operations on Thursday; however decisions about future closures will continue to be made on a daily basis. Our superintendent requests that parents and personnel remain informed on the storm’s progress as well as continued updates as they develop.
