Baker Middle Introduces Girls to Engineering
Mrs. Carter and Ms. Wilson had an opportunity to take some of Baker Middle's girls to Exxon’s Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day. The girls were involved in many different engineering projects such as building a boat to hold the most pennies and building a cup filtration device. They visited LSU’s Center for River Studies and learned about coastal erosion. There were also some wonderful speakers such as Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome and Mrs. Kodi Guillory from Louisiana Coastal Protection & Restoration Authority (CPRA). This was a wonderful experience for our Baker Middle Students.
