BMS Science & Math Students Explore Gravitational Waves

On February 28, 2019, Baker Middle students participated in a science field trip to LIGO. The field trip was provided for grades 7 and 8. LIGO is the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory. It’s a large-scale physics experiment and observatory to detect cosmic gravitational waves and to develop gravitational-wave observations as an astronomical tool.  BMS students had valuable and inspiring hands-on experience thanks to Mrs. Lewis and the science & math departments.
