Huge congratulations are in order for forty of our Baker High School students! Under the expert leadership of Digital Media Teacher Ms. Elizabeth Jones, these talented individuals have successfully earned their Adobe Visual Design certification.

By earning this Industry-Based Certification (IBC), these students have proven they have the technical and creative chops to master professional video editing in Adobe Premiere Pro. This isn't just a certificate—it’s a resume-builder that’s valid for three years, giving our students a head start on jobs, internships, and college applications.

SUN Bucks is a summer grocery benefits program that helps bridge the gap when school is out by providing families with a single, one-time $120 benefit for each eligible child.

Like SNAP, SUN Bucks benefits are loaded onto an EBT card. Families can use SUN Bucks to buy fruits, vegetables, meat, grains, and dairy at grocery stores, farmers' markets, and other food retailers that accept SNAP benefits!

Most eligible children will get these benefits automatically, but some parents will need to apply.

Important reminder: Encourage families to make sure their mailing address is up to date on their SNAP, FITAP, KCSP, or Medicaid case, and with their child's school or foster care caseworker so your card arrives safely!

To say thank you for your incredible community support, the City of Baker School District is hosting a Free Christmas Turkey Giveaway this coming Saturday.

December 20, 2025.
Starting at 10:00 a.m. (Please note: Turkeys are available while supplies last).
Park Ridge Groom Road Campus, located at 5903 Groom Road.

Please remember that this giveaway is for City of Baker citizens only. A valid ID is required to receive your turkey.
