Special Education Advisory Council (CBSS SEAC)

The City of Baker School System Special Education Advisory Council (CBSS SEAC) serves as a platform for parents, district staff, and community stakeholders to provide meaningful input on special education policies, procedures, and available resources. The council promotes collaboration, support, and community engagement to enhance services for students with disabilities.

Purpose:
The CBSS SEAC aims to increase awareness, foster open communication, and strengthen partnerships that support the success of exceptional students. Council members will serve in an advisory capacity to the Superintendent and/or School Board by offering guidance and recommendations on special education initiatives.

Membership Composition:
The council will include a diverse group of:

  • Parents/guardians of students with disabilities
  • Employees of the City of Baker School System
  • Community stakeholders with vested interest in special education

All members are appointed and will serve a term during which they participate in three scheduled meetings per school year.

Council Members Will:

  • Actively engage in meetings with the Supervisor of Exceptional Student Services and/or designee
  • Provide input on proposed policies, procedures, and resource allocation
  • Collaborate to strengthen and improve outcomes for students receiving special education services

Application and Selection Process:
Applications are open to parents of students with disabilities, CBSS employees, and community members. Selected applicants will be notified via email.
