LSU Promotes Girls in STEM

Baker's Girls In STEM

Three of our students participated in LSU’s Girls Night at the Museum, an event to promote girls in STEM.  Myiah Flournoy (Baker Heights Elementary School), Samantha Hooker (Park Ridge Academic Magnet School), and Eluan Clark (Baker Middle School), joined 31 other 4th through 6th grade girls from Baton Rouge and the surrounding areas.  They enjoyed an evening of exciting science activities, demonstrations, conversations with women scientists, and a tour of the internationally recognized LSU Museum of Natural Science.

Check out the Girls Night at the Museum experience by reading a blog post about the exciting science stations, the behind-the-scenes tour, and the students' chat with top women scientists at LSU.  Eluan Clark, A JAG student at Baker Middle School, was selected as a guest blogger to contribute to the post.
