Superintendent's Message

Greetings!

The City of Baker School System is excited to welcome all students back to school for the 2021-2022 school year! As we prepare for the reopening of schools, we are taking every precaution necessary to ensure the health and safety of our students, staff, and families.

Our theme of excellence this year is “Empowering Excellence in Mind, Spirit, and Action.” After reflecting on the challenges of last year, we are ready to re-engage our students and position them for academic and developmental growth, social and emotional wellness, and support for intervention as well as academic acceleration. We believe in the power of high-quality teaching and learning experiences, and we know we have the team in place to provide meaningful and intentional instruction to address the academic needs of our students. To support our students’ achievement goals, we have assigned twenty (20) minutes of scheduled time each day to “read across the district.” This reading initiative will support academic advancements in literacy supporting all K-12 students. This is just one of many resources implemented this school year to address our students’ academic needs. We are committed to building the future of the City of Baker School System, and we are excited to collaborate with our partners and leaders to accomplish this great work. Have a great start to the 2021-2022 school year!
