Baker High School Summer LEAP 2026 Re-Testing Information

Prepare. Attend. Succeed.

Baker High School is providing eligible students with the opportunity to participate in Summer LEAP 2026 re-testing. This notice serves as an official reminder to families regarding summer re-testing expectations, dates, location, arrival time, and student requirements.

Families of eligible students have been contacted through school calls/messages, JCampus communication, and school social media platforms. If your child is scheduled to re-test, they are expected to report on their assigned testing day(s), on time, and prepared to test.

Summer LEAP re-testing is an important opportunity for students to demonstrate proficiency on required assessments and remain on track with course and graduation-related requirements. Families are asked to review the information below carefully and make all necessary arrangements in advance.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This information applies to Baker High School students who are eligible for Summer LEAP re-testing.

Students who participated in summer remediation and/or were identified for LEAP re-testing should report as scheduled for their assigned assessment(s). If your child has been notified that they are eligible to test, attendance is expected.

TESTING DATES AND SUBJECTS

Monday, June 22 – Tuesday, June 23

  • English I
  • English II

Wednesday, June 24 – Thursday, June 25

  • Algebra I
  • Geometry
  • Biology

Students should report only on the day(s) they are scheduled to test.

TESTING LOCATION

COBSS / Baker School Board Office

14750 Plank Road, Baker, LA 70714

Students should not report to Baker High School for Summer LEAP re-testing unless otherwise directed.

DAILY TESTING SCHEDULE

  • Student Report Time: 7:30 a.m.
  • Testing Begins: Promptly after check-in
  • Estimated End Time: Approximately 12:00 p.m.

Important Timing Information

Families should understand that 12:00 p.m. is an estimated dismissal time, not a guaranteed pickup time for every student.

Students may finish later than 12:00 p.m. if:

  • They receive testing accommodations that allow for extended time, or
  • They are completing missed testing sessions due to an absence on a scheduled testing day

Students who miss a scheduled testing day will still be expected to complete all required sessions and will be required to remain beyond 12:00 p.m. if necessary in order to finish make-up testing.

Families should plan transportation accordingly.

WHAT STUDENTS MUST BRING

Each student must:

  • Arrive by 7:30 a.m.
  • Wear their school uniform
  • Bring their school-issued computer/device
  • Be prepared to remain until testing is fully completed
  • Follow all testing procedures and staff directions

Personal laptops, tablets, and computers may not be used for testing.

ELECTRONIC DEVICE POLICY

To maintain a secure state testing environment, students may not have access to unauthorized electronic devices during testing.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Cell phones
  • Smart watches
  • Earbuds / headphones
  • Tablets
  • Any other unauthorized electronic device

Electronic devices will be collected upon arrival and returned once testing is complete.

ATTENDANCE EXPECTATIONS

Attendance for Summer LEAP re-testing is extremely important.

If your child is scheduled to re-test, it is the responsibility of the family to ensure the student:

  • Reports on the correct testing day(s)
  • Arrives by 7:30 a.m.
  • Brings their school-issued device
  • Wears their school uniform
  • Remains for the full testing session, including any required make-up time

If a Student Misses a Scheduled Testing Day

Missing a testing day does not remove the expectation to test.

Students who miss a scheduled testing day:

  • Will still be required to complete all missed test sessions
  • Will be scheduled to make up missed sessions during the testing window
  • Will be required to remain after 12:00 p.m., if necessary, to complete missed sessions
  • Must report on the next assigned testing day prepared to complete all remaining sessions

Families should not assume that a missed day means the testing requirement is waived. Students are still expected to complete all required sessions within the state testing window.

WHY RE-TESTING MATTERS

Summer LEAP re-testing gives eligible students an additional opportunity to demonstrate proficiency on required assessments and remain on track for graduation and other academic requirements.

This is an important opportunity for students, and timely attendance matters. Students who arrive late, miss scheduled days, or fail to complete required sessions create delays in the testing process and may be required to return for additional make-up testing.

For that reason, families are strongly encouraged to make transportation and scheduling arrangements in advance and to ensure students report as directed.

IMPORTANT FAMILY REMINDER

Baker High School has made every effort to communicate summer remediation and re-testing information with families through:

  • School messenger calls/messages
  • JCampus communication
  • School social media posts
  • Direct school communication

This website notice is being posted to ensure that all families have access to the full Summer LEAP re-testing information in one place. Please review it carefully and make sure your child reports as scheduled.
