Shining the Spot Lights on Mr. Brandon V. Lewis

Mr. Brandon V. Lewis, Baker High School Art Teacher; was recently commissioned by the YWCA to create a piece of artwork for Dr. Ilyasah Shabazz (daughter of Malcolm X and Betty Shabazz) that celebrated African American women and their significant contributions to American history and culture.

In addition, Mr. Lewis won the People’s Choice Award for his submission in the 2022 Artflow competition hosted by the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge. This is Lewis’ third consecutive time winning the People’s Choice Award.
